The New York Post conveyed that around 28,000 bikers of diverse groups were present at the rally when the shooting broke out near 5 p.m.
Authorities clarified that the casualties and injured were among the rally participants, and no harm was inflicted on the general public.
Red River’s Mayor Linda Calhoun (R) gave an interview to Questa del Rio News regarding the event, highlighting that over 40 law enforcement officers from various departments and agencies were on the scene.

Several of the injured were receiving care at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, located approximately 36 miles southeast of Red River. The Taos Police Department and the Taos County Sheriffโs Office ensured the hospital’s security, as announced by the state police on Twitter.
State police reported that one casualty was air-transported to a Denver hospital.
Mayor Calhoun verified that the shooting was “gang-related” and assured that neither the public nor any officers were injured.
She also stated that businesses located within “the crime scene area” would remain shut on Sunday while the police carry on with their investigation.
Living in New Mexico means that you have to be careful as there are many dangerous cities where you’re safety isn’t secured.
