Mazda is about to expand its SUV lineup and thatโs something to look forward to. The new piece of tech from this Japanese manufacturer should go under the moniker CX-70. It will be slotted right above the less luxurious CX-50 with plenty to offer to its competitors in terms of rivalry. At the moment, Mazda hasnโt released any official information regarding this vehicle, so we have to deal with pure speculation, while some things are pretty clear regardless of Mazdaโs secrecy.

What Should be New in 2024 Regarding CX70?
What we know, and itโs all according to caranddriver.com, is that the Mazda CX-70 will be a new vehicle from Mazda. It will find its place between the larger CX-9 and smaller CX-50, which makes it an ideal new entry to the world of crossovers. While it remains unclear how long it remains till the date of release, this model is certainly one worth of hype. What makes it so exciting?
Under The Hood
C&D claims that they have some serious predictions regarding the powertrains that this SUV is going to sport. They have doubts that the battle for the base mill is between the 2.5L inline four-cylinder which will be paired with a 48-volt hybrid system.
The other option in question could be the 3.3-liter inline-six that packs 340 horsepower. Both would run on Mazdaโs automatic eight-speed transmission. Both options sound amazing, and it wouldnโt be a surprise to see a few engines borrowed from the bigger CX-90.
How Long Will We Wait?

It is hard to tell just how far Mazda has gone in developing this model. According to autoblog.com, we should be expecting it this year. The Japanese manufacturer will not wait too long to follow through on the CX-90. While this is something to look forward to, three quarters of the year have passed and we do not have any official statement released by Mazda.
As far as the price goes, we know even less. CarAndDriver remains steady in claims that this vehicle will come in similar trims as the rest of the Mazda crossover lineup. What this means is that it will carry over their powertrains, platforms, and all-wheel options.
With the imminent arrival of a plug-in hybrid version, you can expect some difference in prices from the base model to the top. At the moment it is hard to speculate about the concrete price considering that weโre talking about a completely new model.
